I read an interview where u said you didnt know your own charm?

Yesung :  i thought about that too. Is this a charm? I think about it and it doesnt feel like one. Then this? And i tried finding one but i couldn’t come up with an answer But you are super idol, Super Junior Yesung : but i’m not a member that stands out nor gets much attention. I am the main vocal but i don’t appear much on variety nor shows. My schedules are like musicals or drama ost so people are probably more familiar with my voice than face. I’m the type to not get satisfied with my self easily so that might be why Havent you heard “Oppa’s charm is _____ kiyaaa~!!” 

Before? Why do you think fans from all over the world love you?

Yesung: they probably got affectionate with me after spending time trying to find my charm. And maybe they saw my unknown charm while looking(laugh) Before interview, we wonder about what charm to bring out from each person. And i stumbled on ‘Immortal Song 2’ performances and discovered myself replaying it over and over again. 

One of your big charms must be the voice that can go back and forth “sweet” and “sad” with ease. You compared your voice as the color “red” can we know the reason? 

Yesung : When explaining our voices, KRY member Ryeowook is bright toned, or Yellow. Kyuhyun is sharp, or blue. I hear most often that my voice is ‘red’, because my voice is most “deep toned” and “husky”. I enjoy being praised because of my singing. I feel very thankful. Personally, OST will be released soon. Kangta hyungnim wrote the lyrics/song/producing, and the song is great. I hope people react good to it. We listened to “lord of the dramas” and “Cinderella Unni” osts well. As a viewer, i was thankful. I think i will listen well this time too. 

From the blog, i noticed Mouse Rabbit is always full of customers. Did you not open a “Hansel and Gretel” before? Successful boss title… We’re jealous!

Yesung : We closed “Hansel and Gretel” and opened “Mouse Rabbit” near our house 2 months ago. To be honest, i am not the boss because my brother and mother runs the cafe. I am Super Junior’s Yesung and also a 30 years old man Kim Jong Woon. I believe the name “Yesung” should never be used to market a personal business since I place the work i do with Super junior as priority. But because it’s my parents store, i do think about it often. “Mouse Rabbit” name came from me and my brother’s zodiac signs. Many of my ideas went in the interior designs. There ate many small & cute items. You also designed glasses. 

You have many skills. 

Yesung : my father opened Why Style in Myeongdong. I like designed glasses so with WhyStyle, i made many that i wanted. I received much help from SeJoon-hyung (Glass Box member) who owns a glasses franchise store. My brother also played a big role. He has many skills and have learned professional designing. I talk on the side, give him ideas, and he makes them cool. And i will critique it and give advices. (Laugh) Recently, i wanted to make an aligator-skin frame so after searching here and there, i found the rare skin to make the frame. Because it was hard to find, i was only able to make 1,000 limited edition. The glasses i’m wearing right now is the glasses i’m talking about and it is more pretty every time you look at it. 

You must be very close with your younger brother. Your eyes are full of affection. 

Yesung: When I was a busy trainee, we were not able to see each other often so we weren’t close. Right after debut, when I was sick, he moved in with me to take care of me. And since I am “a home lover” (stay at home all day), we grew much closer 

What do you do at home? 

Yesung: Whenever I have time, I watch movies and play games. I have over 5,000 DVDs at home that I collected. 

What is your biggest worry right now? 

Yesung: Today, a pimple appeared on my cheek and it’s starting to hurt (laugh) Recently, there was a small trouble but it has been resolved. In past, I didn’t go to the cafe as often. I felt pressured and thought that I had to show perfect side in personal life, just as I had shown on stage. I also worried about fans crowding bothering other people, who just come to enjoy good coffee. My family members tell me not to come but these days, I try to go whenever I have time.

Why did your thoughts change? 

Yesung: Ever since I was in elementary school, I rode a bus to school. Middle school was further, and high school was even further [T/N: This is very common in Korea esp highschoolers.] When I was a trainee, I woke up at 5AM to go to school. After school, I spent 3 hours going to the practice room. After practice, I’d be worn out and sleep 4 hours. Because it was physically hard for me, I have taken liking to things around me. Since back then, I thought of becoming successful quickly, and opening a store near my family’s house to serve my parents so they can live well. 

Is that why you are well known as a good son?

Yesung: Titles like that are awkward for me. Because it’s an obvious thing to do. My heart ached when my father was injured while working, and I also watched my mother work hard. So now, I wish that my parents would rest but hard-work is embedded in their lifestyles so they stay from opening to closing time. So how can I not work hard? I feel very sorry whenever I am at home with free-time. So I go to the store often to help them. That worry I had about my image, I don’t need it anymore. I am thankful to those who come, and I enjoy meeting them. I also prefer to take care of those who are always there for me Recently, KRY placed #1 in Oricon Singles Daily Chart. And Congratulations on successful KRY concert in Budokan.

 Did anything fun happen in Japan? 

Yesung: After concert, we went to party. I had a recording next day so to take care of my throat, I just enjoyed the mood. But Ryeowook and Kyuhyun over-drank. Next day, both Ryeowook, who had a very tired face, and Kyuhyun, who had full make-up on, were late to the gathering time. I asked Kyuhyun why he put on full-makeup just to go to airport and he replied that he had a hangover, and just collapsed yesterday. So basically he still had it on from yesterday. (Laugh) In the car to the airport, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun kept saying their stomachs don’t feel good, so I kept looking back to check on them. Looking at them almost made my stomach feel bad too. Kyuhyun, interestingly, was loosely smiling while being dazed and lost. I was unable to drink a single drop of alcohol… The more I think about it, the more I find it unfair.
